Meet the Boutique – Minky Mink 0

As part of my appreciation for all that small businesses bring to our community I am excited to share with your our first “Meet the Boutique” post. You can look forward to updates on our favorite pieces for the season as well as what to expect for those who those who haven’t yet made it to the shop.

Blue Embroidered Dress – $99

Minky Mink is always my go- to spot for pieces with that “extra” special something. You can expect to find clothing with great details that range from relaxed bohemian to more modern streamlined silhouettes. They also carry wardrobe essentials like soft, solid t-shirts, designer jeans, hunter rain boots, lace bralettes and gorgeous jewelry that are great for gifts. New this year are Soludos shoes in plain or embroidered.

Accessories including Wink Shoes by Soludos

I have found some of my favorite closet staples at this store throughout the years- the perfect black dress with sleeves, breezy beach vacation items including a lace back striped button down and maxi dress, and a bright neon pink ensemble for sunny summer days.

I spotted a lot of my favorite summer color palette at Minky Mink this week– white (always!), ranges of blue, pastels and sad but true, black. I just can’t let it go! Stripes, floral, and tribal were the standout patterns.

Minky Mink Owner, Maura Bannon

Hear from new owner Maura Bannon:

We are so glad Minky Mink is here to stay! What prompted you to buy this business?

I worked in the marketing industry for years and it just left me feeling unfulfilled. I had always had a part time position at a boutique in Saratoga Springs and absolutely loved working there! I had always dreamed of owning my own boutique, so I just decided to go for it! I was scared about taking such a large leap of faith, but knew that if I didn’t, I would always regret it.

Can you tell us a little about your customer?

The age range of shoppers at MinkyMink is about 25-55. I’m not saying that anyone older or younger wouldn’t find anything at the shop though! I have lots of professional women and young mothers who visit me every week! Many of my customers visit me if they need an outfit for a special occasion, or just looking for a special piece to add to their wardrobe.

What’s new and exciting for Minky Mink?

We are now carrying Razimus Jewelry. Razimus is sustainable fabric jewelry handmade using organic fabrics, upcycled designer remnants, and vintage clothing. It’s also eco-friendly jewelry and handmade by a women in Saratoga Springs. The owner is very passionate about her craft and I love supporting other women in business!

These Druzy Necklaces are great for gifting!

Minky Mink was recently voted Rookie Business of the Year by the Post Star Magazine!
